Brewed strong, tea adds tannin, body and warmth — the backbone of jagertee, of alcohol-free toddies, and of a properly built winter punch.
Flavour profile
Tea is the most underrated winter cocktail ingredient. A strong brew of black tea gives an alcohol-free toddy real backbone; Earl Grey lifts gin with bergamot oil; chai-style infusions bring built-in spice. Brew tea hotter and stronger than you would drink it on its own — once it lands in a cocktail it gets diluted by everything else.
