Vermouth as a winter cocktail ingredient

Vermouth deserves more credit than it usually gets in winter. A good sweet vermouth (Carpano Antica, Punt e Mes) adds depth to anything Negroni-adjacent, and dry vermouth makes an unexpectedly elegant low-ABV warm sip when gently heated with citrus and spice. Store it in the fridge after opening; vermouth oxidises faster than wine and a tired bottle ruins the drink it lands in.
